About The Author

Mr. Voice is the creation of H. Wade Minter. He began writing the program soon after he began performing the role of Mr. Voice at ComedySportz-Raleigh (now ComedyWorx). The sound system until that time was based around tapes and CDs, and Wade thought that a digital audio system would be an improvement. The initial version of Mr. Voice was used in Raleigh in early to mid 2001, and development has continued ever since.

Wade is originally from Kenbridge, Virginia. He got his B.S. in Computer Science from The College of William and Mary in 1997, and has been working primarily as a Unix system administrator since then. His current day job is the Director of Information Technology at WebAssign.

Wade has been involved in improvisation since 1998. His home club is ComedyWorx (formerly The Great American Comedy Company, formerly ComedySportz) in Raleigh, NC. He is also a member of the longform group Destroy All Monsters with DSI Comedy Theater in Chapel Hill. In addition, he has performed in Washington DC, Richmond, and Green Bay.

Special Thanks

Mr. Voice would not be anywhere near as useful as it is without the help of several people. So here is their shout-out now.

The Beta Team - a group of users who provide testing and feedback on new releases and feature ideas. They are: Bill Cernansky (CSz-Portland) and Randy Tennison (Comedy City - Kansas City)

The management and Voices at ComedyWorx and the DSI Comedy Theater, for providing direct feedback on a continuing basis.

Autrijus Tang, for the outstanding PAR utility, which allows me to take this fairly complicated application and package it so that it is easy to install.

The developers of Perl, SQLite and Perl/Tk, for providing the core technologies that allow Mr. Voice to work.

And last but not least, my wife Holly, for moral support while I've spent many a night trying to get this application to work.
